Life is oftentimes funny! Never in a million years did I ever imagine I would be hanging out with one of the biggest music stars of today. But, that became my life. At least, only twice, but still! Not a lot of people can say they've spent time with a superstar. Specifically, one like Ed Sheeran!
The first time was a complete surprise. My buddy Dylan invited me to a club one time, down in Downtown LA, and I thought we'd be there just to chill. Initially, I didn't want to go cause I just went through a break up that time. But Dylan and his girl Lily asked me to go. They said it might cheer me up. And so I decided to go. I even promised to not put a downer on anyone's night that night with my relationship problems. However, I did make them promise that if the vibe was dead, I'd be out!
Little did I frickin' know that that night, I was going to be introduced to Ed Sheeran. I kid you not, I was floored when I saw who our tablemates were that evening. Dylan, who's a photographer, and Lily, who's a model, knew a lot of famous people but they never really introduce any of us normal folks to them. I was their personal friend and the likes of Ed Sheeran were their professional friends if you catch my drift.
Anyways, that night I hung out with Ed Sheeran and his girl and it was incredible. I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the singer is. And yes, it did eventually cheer me up that night, especially since my ex was a huge fan of his and I got to show off to her that I hung out with him!
The second time I hung out with Ed Sheeran, I was a bit more prepared. More so because, this time, Dylan and Lily told me beforehand that he'd be joining our table at the same club again. And so I gathered up a few posters my sister bought (who was a huge fan too) and planned to ask him to sign them. To be totally honest, it was an enterprising plan as I needed to earn a few extra bucks and what better way than to sell signed memorabilia online?
At first, Dylan and Lily told me not to, but when I told then I'd use some of the money I would earn to pay back what I owed them, they agreed to let me do it. Only on one condition though: that I play it cool. So that night, that's just what I did. Thankfully, he remembered me so I was already in. We were having a good time just drinking, chatting it up and listening to the amazing DJ. Then, when he started acting all tipsy, I went in for the kill. I asked him if he could sign my posters. And, without even saying anything, he got my pen and started signing each one. Mission: accomplished!
So that's the story of how I got these posters signed. For you Ed Sheeran fans out there, help a guy out and buy a copy! You won't regret it, I promise you that!
