My Aunt Phyllis had a fabulous life. She was a jet-setter, at a time when jet-setting was the name of the game. She dressed like Jackie Kennedy, sang like Janis Joplin, and drank like Judy Garland. She was a mess, but a fabulous and fashionable mess the likes of which we can only dream of today.
But, perhaps the most fabulous thing my Aunt Phyllis did was date a few rock stars. Out of all of the romantic trysts she told me about when she was still with us, I only believed she dated at least one of them. But golly, imagine the laundry list that she had: Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Steven Tyler, and more! Who's that one person I believe she actually dated, though? Jimi Hendrix!
Aunt Phyllis had proof that she had an affair with Jimi Hendrix. It was a pile of the music icon's posters all bearing his autograph. I don't know why she had them, though. It was either she wanted to show the world that she really did date a rock star, or she knew a lot of Jimi Hendrix fans. She might have even stole these from him when he wasn't looking. And with all due respect to my late great aunt, I would believe the latter.
When I grow up, I hope to be, at the very least, as half has fabulous as my Aunt Phyllis during her heyday. Some of you might think of her as a slut, but I'd rather remember her as a sexual revolutionary. A fabulous one at that! Rock on, Aunt Phyllis!
Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story above.
