What is it about time traveling that's so entertaining? Is it having to go to a certain period in time? Is it getting a chance to meet all the historic icons in our history books? Or maybe it's the possibility of altering the entire universe in just one snap? Whichever it is, there's no denying time travel movies are great flicks. It elicits a certain fantasy that a lot of us just wish was true. Maybe it's for personal reasons or maybe it's just for the hell of it. Still, time travel moves excite people.
Though some are worth more of everyone's time than others. Here are a few of them.
Back To The Future
If there's one movie that really pushed time-traveling to the forefront, it's "Back To The Future." This cool and trippy film made everyone excited for the 2010s. And while today never really looked like that in the movie, it's still a classic anyways. And who doesn't love a great adventure with a mad scientist? Whether it's going to the 1950s to see what your parents were like to going down to the Wild Wild West and battling some rambunctious cowboys, this was every adventure-lovers favorite film. Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown were the OG time-travelers!
Avengers: Endgame
Who knew the biggest superhero movie in cinematic history would consist of a lot of time-traveling? "Avenger: Endgame" saw most of your favorite avengers going back in all sorts of time periods to collect the 'Infinity Stones'. And with each time they went was a spectacular scene in of itself. It was magical seeing Thor reunite with his mother again. It was heart-wrenching watching Black Widow sacrifice herself for Hawk-Eye to get the 'Soul' stone. And it was fascinating seeing 'The Ancient One' put The Hulk in his place. Though the final battle scene is all that Marvel fans will remember the most, the time-traveling aspect of the film was still stellar!
X:Men: Days of Future Past
Boy, superheroes can't get enough of time-traveling, do they? In "X-Men: Days of Future Past," Wolverine travels back in time to help change the course of the mutants' future, including his own present in the year 2023. In the film, we see the beloved Hugh Jackman take on his most iconic role, this time, playing with new actors as younger versions of the characters he fought, loved, and battled with in the first X-Men movie series. It was interesting seeing the convergence of two relatively different franchises. And it was incredibly cool seeing how our favorite X-man came to be!
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
There's practically only one sequence in "Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban" that centers on time-traveling, but it was the most memorable one at that. You have to admit, even with all the flashy magic the usually show here, seeing Harry and Hermione go back in time, to scenes they just played out not too long ago, was pretty cool. It made sense that what Hermione really sensed in an earlier scene, what we all thought were probably villains, was actually herself from the future. And the fact that it was actually Harry who saved himself from the Dementors instead of his own father (which who he thought it was), was magical!
If you ever wanted to look forward into the or repeat a certain time into the future, maybe this flicks will stasify your cravings.
