Please note: Our inventory is limited as we may have only received a few posters in total. Most of our items are obtained from film premieres, studios, and from autographed hounds such as the one in the story below:
Don't you just love pleasant surprises? They're often the best, aren't they? When you least expect it, something suddenly pops up that significantly improves your mood. Well, I had that very experience happen to me not too long ago. And it involved a certain musical legend that I've always looked up to!
It was one quiet afternoon. Since it was a Saturday, I decided to do some spring cleaning. I live at a relatively old house that my dad bought for my mom when they were both young. I have since inherited it for my own family when my dad passed away a few years ago. Having just moved in last year, a lot of the stuff inside it was still theirs. And so one morning, my wife, oldest daughter, and I decided that it was high time we replaced some of these antiques with our own stuff. I went to the attic first to make way for the knick-knacks we'll store in it when I discovered something amazing.
Inside an old closet, underneath a stack of old magazines, was a box my dad kept. I once saw this box back in my youth, but never really questioned what was inside. Finally, I could open it and see what's indie for myself. To my astonishment. the pristine box contained a few copies of Jimi Hendrix's "Both Sides of the Sky" album poster with his autograph on each one!
I was absolutely in shock! I never realized a music legend's handwriting lay in the attic for all this time. The stack must have belonged to my mom, who was a self-confessed fan of Hendrix. When she passed on, she left me and my sister some of her Jimi Hendrix records. When we got the posters out and cleaned them up a bit, we listened to those same records.
Still, I wasn't sure if these were real. So when we wiped away all the dust from the posters, I went to a nearby vintage shop that also authenticated autographs. They asked if they could look at it better with other experts so I gave them half the stack. The very next week, I got them back with certificates of authenticity for all of them. It was crazy!
We now have two of them hung in the house. One is in our entertainment room, where my mom's record collection is also stored. And the other is in our master bedroom. We framed both of them too. The rest, on the other hand, is now here for all of you to get a hold of!
