Look, I'm all for sports movies and all but I want my films to have some spice to 'em. You know what I'm saying? It doesn't always have to be the inspirational BS that's only good for selling Nikes and Adidas. Sometimes, sports movies can go beyond the sport to uncover something even more interesting.
This is why I say thank God for "Inside Game." Finally! A basketball movie that's not all about some punk off the street who will make it big in the game. Haven't we seen that movie a hundred times already? At least with this movie, there's some mob action that's actually based on real life. As far as sports movies go, this is the kind shit I want. Something gripping, exciting, and will leave me on the edge of my seat.
I got so pumped up for this movie that I actually went to its red carpet premiere. Yeah, I'm a bit of a movie nerd like that. I wanted to get the cast's autograph even before I saw the film. I got a couple of posters off of my friend who works at a local cinema and he hooked me up. And damn! Even the movie's poster looks cool. It's like the NBA logo. I love it when studios get creative like that. Unlike some big ass studio who, even though they make the most successful films, their posters look exactly the same. You know what company I'm talking about... *wink*
Luckily for me, most of film’s leads were there at the premiere. Will Sasso, Lindsey Morgan, Scott Wold, Berto Colon, and more. One by one they passed by me and signed my posters. For some strange reason, Sasso reminded me so much of Chris Pratt pre-"Guardians of the Galaxy." Had he never shed off all that weight, I bet Pratt would like very similar to Sasso right now. Lindsey Morgan is an absolute babe. I mean, she already stole my heart at the trailer but she got me even more excited in person.
Overall, it was a fun night of film and sports. To all of you movie-makers reading this out there, this is the way to go when it comes to sports movies. Go for a different angle than just the inspirational BS. It'll look better, believe me!
